The Beginnings
Since winning the audience award at Slamdance for his first feature Bindlestiffs, Andrew Edison has continued to flourish in indie film. Working with decades-long, trusted collaborators and only adding more talented people into the mix, Andrew’s recent success includes a run of short films. Most recently, “Birdie” (2022) was awarded Best Short Psychological Thriller at the Manhattan Film Festival and Best Thriller at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival.
Andrew’s commitment to the community that makes indie film runs deeper than directing alone. He’s served as juror on various film festival panels including the renowned Slamdance Festival. He has built a community of online film enthusiasts co-hosting a Twitch-affiliated podcast called Movie Blab.
Never giving up on his roots in performance, Andrew completed UCB’s comedy improv track in 2019. He’s also acted in multiple short films, most notably, Bryan Poyser’s “More Than Four Hours” co-starring Zack Cregger, director of “Barbarian.”
